The Perfect Imitation

The photo below was sent to me in an email with a reel of cute baby pics. I couldn't help but laugh when I saw this, it's the PERFECT imitation of Mike. I swear, walk into the studio when he's just pulled off something spectacular and this is the look you'll find on his face.

An Absolute Time Waster

Who doesn't love popping bubble wrap?
Pop away.

What's Cooking?

We are running low on supplies, I have been on my own for two weeks and have managed to make just one grocery store run for a few necessities. Mike's back and the cupboards are bare so it's back to our weekly menu planning.

Here's the plan for this week.

Sunday: tacos
Monday: balsamic chicken and wee roasties
Tuesday: beef stir fry
Wednesday: cajun chicken chunks & chicken rice
Thursday: Salmon & salad
Friday: chicken fingers & fries
Saturday: Chicken alfredo
Sunday: fajitas

Yum! Off to the grocery store I go.

Candy Head

UPDATE: The Matchstick link has been updated, sorry about the previously broken link.

The Herbal Essences line is a hair care line that I have not experienced much of BUT there's an opportunity through Matchstick which could mean full value coupons arriving in your mailbox allowing you to try out the new Herbal Essences Hydralicious shampoo and conditioner. If the products smell as good as the bottles appear you will want to stay far away from candy loving children. The candy swirled packaging tells me you may smell like a lolly after washing your locks and unless you enjoy having your head sucked it will be best to avoid candy hungry peeps.

I'm hoping to try out the shampoo and conditioner for myself; I'm a salon product lover so Herbal Essences will have to smell fab and work wonders in order for me to give it a rave review. I'll let you know what I think if/when I try it.

Pop over here to fill out Matchstick's survey, they'll contact you if you meet the criteria to take part in this trial.

Loving These Designs

Aimee Wilder has some fabulous wallpaper designs. I absolutely adore the clouds and the aliens but I'm not two so those will have to wait until I have a small person's room to decorate and who knows when that will be.

The analog design on the other hand is right up my alley! I bolted downstairs to show Mike when I spotted it, he was as stoked as I was and it will definitely be on his studio walls down the road.

Be sure to check out the Aimee Wilder website to see some more very cool designs.

Totally Tetris

When I spotted this vid over at Crayola Yellow I couldn't help but smile. I've posted before admitting my addiction to Dr. Mario so obviously Tetris is another love of mine.

"Nasty" Doesn't Cut It

Mike's in Puerto Rico on business so I decided it was the perfect time to try the Thai Shrimp Stir Fry by Compliments. I'm not a big frozen entree girl but I figured if the President's Choice Thai products are to die for then it's likely the Compliments are as well, right? WRONG!!

This product is the nastiness pre-made food I have ever eaten. It takes a lot for me to not eat a meal but the entire pot went into the garbage before I could force down a third bite. EW EW EW!

Don't believe me? Well, try it for yourselves but don't say I didn't warn you! ick

Crafty Graffiti

Have you heard of yarnbombing? I hadn't either until I visited Eterknity's blog today and read this post. Check it out... very cool.

A Whirlwind Weekend

What a crazy yet wonderful weekend! In true Jen fashion, my best friend announced two weeks ago that she was getting married... in two weeks time... in Miami. I knew if anyone could pull together a fabulous wedding in just two weeks it would be Jenny.

I'm still in awe of her efforts - it was Valentine's Day and yet she still managed to find a killer location, three photographers, beautiful flowers, a make up artist, the perfect dress and an officiant who was absolutely lovely. The sunset wedding was jaw dropping beautiful - it took place at Cabana One, a rooftop location with a stunning view. I was truly honored to stand next to Jen while she said her tear filled vows!

It was a black and white theme, approximately 40 guests all went with it and what a classy looking crew we were. The reception took place at Cabana One as well and it was a blast! We drank far too much champagne and laughed hard all night long. At one point in the evening Rebecca came rolling through the bar on a luggage cart waving to the crowd in a very queen-like way, friggen hilarious. The party moved down to the room Rebecca and I were sharing and continued to the early morning - who in their right mind thinks it's a good idea to put pianos in hotel rooms?! The room service delivery guy came in shaking his head saying "this is not good" but he was oh so wrong, it certainly WAS good and nobody complained... or maybe they did but we were just too loud to hear them. Good times had by all.

In my rush to get out of town Friday morning, I forgot my camera so I don't have any pictures to share but will be sure to post some as soon as I get my paws on them.

Oh and simply because it's just SO Mike & Jen, I feel I should share their proposal story. Last week the two of them went to sign the papers for the lease on their new condo downtown Miami. Michael asked Jen to wait in the lobby while he ran to do something or other (get the Super maybe?); he came back a short while later and together they headed up to the condo. They walked into the condo and there spelled out in 650 - no that's not a typo 650 - candles was WILL YOU MARRY ME, JEN? How freaking cute is that?! Totally Jen and Michael.

Congratulations once again Jenny & Michael!! You are one fabulous Mr & Mrs!

Gingham Skies New Style

I'm excited to announce that I have some new vegan designs in the works. Tess will be hitting the shop today:

Anyone planning on working with vinyl? Let me save you a world of frustration: buy a teflon foot for your sewing machine!

Here's Tess in pink. This little lady will be sold in the shop at a significant discount - she was one of my first attempts at Tess therefore she has a few minor issues with less than perfect top stitching and an off-centre interior pocket.

Fab Pick of Last Week

Artsy Rubbish has an array of glass mixed media mosaic tiles perfect for gift giving and they are reasonably priced to boot. There is the option to order custom tiles as well - what a lovely idea for a wedding gift!
