Loving this better (in my opinion) version of Beyonce's All the Single Ladies. What do you think?

It's a beautiful fall day and this is the perfect downtempo track to listen to while sitting back and soaking up some sunshine.

I ♥ U2
The U2 concert in Toronto on Wednesday night was the best concert EVER! They sounded unbelievably fabulous live and so did Snow Patrol who opened up for them.
I snagged a few of Joanne's pictures to share with you because in all of the shots I took with my cell the boys look like they're on fire and I don't mean "on fire" as in "damn they were so good they were on fi-ah!"
We were ridiculously close to the outer circle of the stage. Bono was in panty tossing distance in the shot below but I'm a classy lady and of course I chose to keep my gitch in place rather than whipping them at him.
I expected some serious lecturing from Bono on the horrible happenings in Africa and the generally brutal state of the world - which I should add I wouldn't have disagree with or frowned upon, I admire a star who uses his platform to make a difference rather than simply giving away cash for the tax break - but instead the focus was on what positive change has taken place since the global community has begun to work together to make a difference. Very cool.
A fabulous concert by an amazing band. There is definitely a good reason U2 has been touring for 20 odd years: they're freaking phenomenal.
Thanks for the photos and a fabulous evening Joanne!! Thanks to my Michael for the tickets!
Another one of my 32 bites the dust! Yippee!

Tonight's the Night!
I'm super excited! Tonight Joanne and I are off to see U2! Mike's work gave him two floor tickets and he gave up his so that Joanne (who is a HUGE U2 fan) could go with me! Woooo hoooo!! Thanks babe!
I was extra excited to find out that Snow Patrol is opening up for U2! This is going to be an awesome night!

Mission Accomplished
My husband is a musician/DJ who has spent countless hours in his studio over the last ten years working on music with the hope of eventually releasing a record.
I'm stoked to be able to announce that he has reached his goal! Mike won a remix contest and his track will be released on itunes, amazon and a pile of other online digital distributor sites at the end of 2009 or early 2010.
The original track is titled Substance D by Nick Cenik, Mike's remix is titled the Ypsi Kid's 4 Course Meal Mix. Check it out by pressing play below or click this link: Nick Cenik - Substance D (Ypsi Kid's 4 Course Meal Mix)
You can check out more of Mike's tracks on his Sound Cloud page.

A Must Listen
When was the last time someone made you a mixed tape? Lucky me was handed a gem of a CD by one of my all time fav girls - thanks Jessy! Jess handpicked a stash of sweet sounds for my ears to enjoy and Spoon's Don't You Evah was the first track to stroke my ear drums. Yep it's true, I've been thwacked with cupid's arrow: I ♥ Spoon.

Loving the Jing Bang Show
Mike & I hit up the Boathouse last night; our friend Brad brought us out to hear his buddy's band play and WOW! The Jing Bang Show have definitely made my new music loves list. Check our their My Space page to listen to I'm What's Wrong with the World - their best song according to Jaime.
This is another one of my favs, enjoy!

Feelin It
I don't know how you could feel anything but love towards MGMT. Jackie included them on her list of favs and seeing their name reminded me of how much I adore their music. I think it's nearly impossible to listen to these tracks and not bop your head and tap your toes. Love it!
What would you classify MGMT as, electro pop maybe?

Sounds Like Candy
Soko is simply adorable and has a voice that is so sweet your teeth are liable to ache after consumption.

Listen to her loveliness:
I found Soko thanks to Liss over at Daydream Lily, after watching the interview she posted I was smitten.

Mmmmmusique
I promised more new music and here I am just a few days later delivering, lucky you!
My fab friend Jackie is the Queen of Indie and I've asked her to send me a list of band names so that I can update my collection of tunes. She and her man Ian are always at concerts and listening to the up and coming before they rise to the top so I'll be sure to share my new finds with all of you.
Mother Mother is a band from Vancouver, British Columbia which just happens to be the home of three of my most favourite ladies (Jackie being one of them). The band isn't just fabulous by association of location, they have catchy songs that I intend to listen to over and over again. Check them out...

Likey Lykkee Li
I'm smitten. Thanks to Liss from Daydream Lily I have been introduced to a new artist to obsess over. I can finally set Todd Terje aside (at least temporarily). Listening to this lovely Swede's voice gets my creative juices flowing... watch her video below for Little Bit and check out her myspace page to hear a few more of her songs.

Turn it up for Todd Terje!
Turn up the volume on your computer if you want to hear some sweet sounds flowing from your speakers. I've resisted the urge to add a music widget to my blog for some time now because more often than not I'm totally annoyed when I find one on a blog (usually because my volume is up waaay too high and I end up being blasted off my chair thanks to some cheese oozing from my speakers) but I'm currently obsessed with the dj Todd Terje. This obsession stems from the mix you'll hear playing if you would just turn up the volume. It's a suh-weeet mix, really... trust me I've listened to it about a kazillion times in the last month and I'm still not sick of it. That being said, let me know when you're sick of hearing it and I'll throw something new on... maybe.
Speaking of music, the other day I was listening Mozart and wow that is one talented guy. I know that sounds absolutely ridiculous but I've never been a classical music sort of girl and I realize now that's because I had never really listened to it. Two thumbs up for Wolfgang!
