Big Mac for Wee Michael

Mini Michael wanted a new bag for all of his dance gear. Joanne and I decided that a bag similar to the Baby Ben would suit his needs.

His initials adorn the front.

Two magnetic snaps and a large flap will keep his gear safe inside

Pockets to hold four pairs of dance shoes and a large middle section for whatever else he needs. There's also a 7" zippered pocket that's hidden by the shoes.

Similar to the Baby Ben this bag is lined with nylon so that it will easily wipe clean. This style has a few less pockets (Michael didn't need them) and rather than using a heavy canvas for the outside we went with a heavy vinyl - again super easy to clean and really durable.

Hopefully the little man likes the bag! We'll be presenting it to him today at his 9th birthday party! Happy Birthday Michael!!

Little Red Lola

I started working on a new design three months ago but have been so busy with school and life that I haven't had time to go any further with it. Last night I set aside the assignment I was working on and picked up the stitch ripper. The bag I started three months ago had the basic shape of this girl but my plan then was not for her to look like this.

I love the big button and the pleats worked out really well. She closes with a magnetic snap and there's an interior pocket as well. This sweet number isn't for sale but I'll be creating more asap and they'll be going up in the shop. If you're interested in one sooner than later please send me an email at ginghamskies@gmail.com and I'll put a rush on it.

Pretty in Pink

I absolutely love this fabric! It's a Timeless Treasures print and since I seem to have such a difficult time capturing the colour in my photos here's the sample off the company website:

I made myself a pencil case/little bits bag for school with this and intend to make a matching laptop sleeve. I'll be creating an extra of each for the soon-to-be shop as well!

I think this Little Bits bag is the perfect size since it's small enough to stuff in your purse but big enough to hold lots of goodies. I've got a pile of school supplies in mine and there's still room to spare.

Measurements: 5" x 8.5"
From here on in I'll be making the little bits bag this size unless of course I have a special request.

Elizabeth the 1st

This sweet little clutch in the batik design was named Elizabeth the 1st by my husband Mike. When I asked him why Elizabeth he paused and replied: "because it's beautiful enough for a queen to carry." Enough said.
Elizabeth's MeasurementsA fabulous little clutch that can hold a whole lot of goodness. Appx. 6" x 8"
Closure: vintage button
I hand delivered Elizabeth to her new owner today and she absolutely loved her! Thanks Kim!

Hannah Mania - custom order

Two Hannah Montana fans who love the colours pink and purple will soon be receiving these tiny totes and pencil case their mom ordered for them.

Tote Measurements
Handles: 6" drop
Bag: Appx. 13" x 12"
The perfect size for a child's tote (worn on the shoulder) or a hand-held adult tote.

The eldest of the girls is going into grade 1 this September and her mom wanted a special pencil case for her, I hope she likes it. I lined the little pink tote with the same fabric seen in the pencil case below.

Pencil Case Measurements
Appx: 9" x 5"
Yes those are brand new pencils - I laid a few in there just to be sure they would fit comfortably. Phew!

Little Bits Bag with Button Accents

This the finished Little Bits Bag that goes with this tote here.

I was surprised when the bag was finished, I wasn't too impressed with the batik fabric on its own as a Little Bits Bag. I added the tiny white buttons on both sides to give it a little bit of glam.

I LOVE this fabric!

The first bag for my first order is finished! I'm really pleased with it. I absolutely love this batik fabric; I just wish it would go on sale!

This is the same design I used for this bag but I lengthened the straps at the customers request.
Here are the dimensions:
Straps: 15.5 inch drop, 33 inches from end to end.
End to end: 14.5 inches from seam to seam along top, 10.5 inches along bottom
From zipper to base of bag: appx. 8 inches
Pocket: 7 inches x 4 inches

Sherequested a pocket in the front for her sunglasses (there is a velcro closure) and a zipper to keep all her goodies safe inside the purse. This is the first purse zipper I've done and I'm really happy with the way it turned out. Although it was quite time consuming it wasn't difficult, thanks to Google I found a fantastic tutorial on adding zippers to purses over at Enthral.

I hope the new owner loves it! Now on to the matching Little Bits Bag she wants for inside!
